Beaming sunshine and blue skies were a welcome sight as Friday saw this year's second instalment of the Foundation's 2022 Coastal Walk Challenge Series
A group of over 50 participants covered 47 miles from Hunstanton to Cromer across the Norfolk Coast Path, raising over £16,000 along the way.
The event, sponsored by Coastal Construction, kicked-off beneath the Norfolk sun at 12:00 on Friday 10th of June, with the teams completing the near-24 hour walk at around 8am the following morning.
The walkers were split into four groups, one of which, featured local company Loveday and Partner and another comprised of our Football and Education students.
The route featured several stops along the way, including, Thornham, Brancaster Staithe, Burnham Overy Staithe, Wells, Morston Quay, Cley, Weybourne, and Sheringham, before finishing on Cromer Pier where the participants received medals for their efforts.
The funds raised will be utilised to help drive inclusion for people with disabilities through support teams provided by the Foundation.
This event followed the first instalment of the 2022 Coastal Walk Challenge series in April, where over 90 fundraisers walked distances ranging from 6 miles to 22 miles, raising over £10,000.
A huge thanks goes out to the events contributors, who fuelled our walkers with food, hot drinks and supplied vehicles, and to the participants themselves, whose fundraising contributions have amounted to a rising sum of over £26,000 across the two walks in 2022.

Senior Fundraising and Events Manager, Emma Fletcher-Dungay stated, “we always look forward to this challenge, as it was one of the first fundraisers introduced. This challenge is tough, both mentally and physically, but this year the walkers were incredible and took it literally all in their stride. We are so grateful for our team of volunteers who are invaluable and instrumental in looking after the walkers, it really is one big team effort! The amount raised will make a huge difference to the community.”
