Premier League Kicks Media Day
On Monday 21st of August our Premier League Kicks Programme team hosted a media workshop day in the Carrow Road media suite.
The workshop aimed to give participants an insight into sports reporting, photography, videography and commentary through interactive tasks and talks from some guest speakers.
These speakers included; Community Sports Foundation content team Alex Guest, Neil Hall and Hamish Rogers and BBC Radio Norfolk’s Jack Maclean.
The guests each spoke about their respective journeys into media, recent experiences, and how the Kicks participants could follow similar career paths to follow whatever football or media-related goals they have.
After this, the group went on to tackle some tasks including; match-reporting (based on their experience at the Millwall game), interviewing scenarios and commentary over iconic sports moments.
About PL Kicks
Kicks targets young people (age 8 to 18) who have previously proven difficult to reach and helps guide them towards a range of sporting activities, using football as the main engagement tool.
To date our Kicks project has been a huge success, contributing to a reduction in anti-social behaviour and crime within local communities, whilst improving sport engagement.
