Premier League trophy on display at schools event
On Friday, local teachers and school leaders joined the Community Sports Foundation (CSF) for a Premier League Primary Stars launch event at Norwich City Football Club.
The conference was an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the national curriculum-linked education programme, which is currently delivered in local schools by the Foundation.
Guests speakers Nick Perchard, the Head of Community Engagement at the Premier League (PL), and Stuart Allen, Headteacher at Mile Cross Primary School, spoke about the local and national objectives of the programme, the PL’s commitment to the project, and the benefits of the programme on pupils and schools.
As an additional perk, the guests got the exclusive opportunity to see the official Premier League trophy up close, and hear more about it from its dedicated support team.
CSF Curriculum Manager Stevie Bramble reflected:
“This is the PL’s most ambitious community programme to date and aims to support 15,000 primary schools by 2019. We invited our guests here today to introduce the programme and make them aware of what fantastic support is available.
“Registered schools will be able to apply for free resources and support materials such as book boxes, assembly videos or PE kit and equipment. They can also enter competitions to win a visit from the PL trophy, which we have had the pleasure of having with us today.”
Teachers who registered for the PL’s free primary school resources on the day were entered into a draw to win a signed football for the school, a PSHE assembly and a six-week teaching training course in association with programme partners Gravity Trampoline Parks.
Primary schools can register here for free to enable access to the programme’s full portfolio of resources.
