Over 30 schools join us across two days at The Nest
Norwich City Football Club have their two representatives for the Premier League Primary Stars national finals, following two action-packed days of competitive games at The Nest.
Firside Junior School and Woodlands Primary Academy will travel with the Community Sports Foundation to Watford FC’s Vicarage Road on Tuesday 19th May to compete in the national finals.
Both schools were victorious in the U11 Mixed and U11 Girls tournaments respectively.
Across both days, 400 pupils from 31 local schools joined us at our community hub for the tournament, which was free to enter thanks to funding from the Premier League.
Asa Saunders, CSF’s Schools Programme Manager said: “At the Foundation, we’re really fortunate to be able to work in association with the Premier League and run such high-quality free-of-charge competitions like this for local schools.”
“The Premier League Primary Stars’ values are “be connected, ambitious, fair and inspiring”, and we saw plenty of those values demonstrated on the pitches across both days. Well done to Firside Junior and Woodlands Primary – we can’t wait to take them to Watford FC later this year.”
The students from Firside Junior and Woodlands Primary will get to play in Norwich City FC club kit, use the same dressing-rooms that the professionals use on matchday, come down the tunnel to the Premier League anthem, and have their matches officiated by Premier League match officials.
