Course success for six members of CSF staff
Football and Education Head Coach Adam Drury and Student Liaison Officer Ryan Jarvis are among a number of CSF staff that have successfully obtained a UEFA B license this month.
The former Canaries, who joined the Foundation in 2016 and 2015 respectively, have been awarded the qualification by the English Football Association (FA).
CSF Senior Football Development Manager Jordan Southgate, Boys’ Football Development Manager (U6-U12) Lewis Plowman, Boys’ Football Development Manager (U13-U16) Jordan King and Schools Development Officer Jon Abbott have also completed the course.

Adam Drury said:
“Since leaving the professional game I’ve received some excellent support from the Foundation. I really enjoyed the UEFA B learning experience as it has definitely encouraged me to think about the skills I have and some I want to sharpen up on.
“As a group of coaches we have worked really hard to support and learn from each other.”
The UEFA B licence is level three of five on the coaching pyramid. Where level one and two enables coaches to partake their knowledge at community and county FA levels, level three enables those with the qualification to coach at academy standard.
Candidates on the course develop game understanding and tactical knowledge via a combination of practical, on and off course theory, e-learning and distance learning.
Post contact work is also required in addition to an on course UEFA coaching assessment.
The course was held over a period of six months and now sees the coaches poised to move for the next level in the coaching pathway – either the UEFA A Licence or the Elite Youth A Licence.

Dave Palmer Community Liaison Executive at the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) commented:
“Norwich City have always been very good at supporting players that have been a part of their football development programme from a young age into the future.
“As former members of the PFA it is pleasing to see both Adam and Ryan progress from this support into employment post their successful football careers.”
CSF’s Ian Thornton added:
“The course has enhanced their current playing and coaching experiences. Like many candidates on the course they conducted themselves professionally and contributed to the learning of others through-out the course too.
“Whilst they are all had their own coaching and playing experience before the course to get to this stage on their own coaching journey they have all shown various levels of improvement to be successful at this stage on the qualification framework.
“As always, the participants in our programme will continue to benefit from their passion, skills and creativity. They will continue to organise and deliver the environment and experiences we pride ourselves on.”
