Quartet ‘The Wherry Boys’ emerged victorious on the day, with a total of 35 laps and a finishing time of 53.370, followed close by ‘Team Globex’ and ‘Production Bureau’.
Over £3100 was raised from the event, which will support the Foundation’s recently launched plans to build a multi-purpose community hub, known as ‘The Nest‘.
Aside from the race, an auction was held raising close to £500 with prizes including a signed Norwich City FC shirt, signed Christoph Zimmermann boots and dinner for four at Mundesley Golf Club.
Famed for his Formula 1 coverage on the BBC, CSF Trustee Jake is one of the most popular and well known sports presenters in the UK and has spent time with the some of the greatest drivers on the planet.
He said:
“The event is all about getting people together, having good fun and being competitive but most of all it’s all about raising funds for The Nest, the amazing new community facility that the Foundation are building.”
CSF Community Fundraising Manager Joe Harvey added:
“It was great to see so many people come together for a morning’s racing and to see how good they were at handling life in the fast lane.
“This inaugural fundraiser was an incredible achievement and we cannot thank everyone who supported enough. It’s thanks to these fundraising events that we are able to help so many people across Norfolk.”
All funds raised from the event will help the charity to reach a further 12,000 people a year, via The Nest including people with disabilities, grassroots football teams, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
