Clive Howard wins Norwich City's Community Captain award for 2025
As part of its ‘More Than A Game’ campaign, the Premier League give each club the opportunity to award a Community Captain each season to highlight the positive impact of Premier League investment in communities and clubs at every level of football.
The Premier League is investing £1.6 billion into wider football and communities between 2022 and 2025 to support football at every level of the game across England and Wales. This world-leading funding into clubs, communities and facilities positively impacts and inspires millions of people.
As part of ‘More Than A Game,’ the League will celebrate more than 100 Community Captains—individuals nominated by Premier League, EFL, and National League clubs for their contributions to their local community through programmes funded by the Premier League.
This year, Clive Howard has been chosen as Norwich City Community Sports Foundation’s 2025 Community Captain for his incredible commitment to the community and for the vital work Clive has done with the Foundation’s Down syndrome and pan-disability football teams.
Norwich City Community Sports Foundation are proud to celebrate the achievements of our chosen Premier League Community Captain, Clive, recognising the instrumental role they played in the development of our disability football provision, particularly through his work with the Down syndrome football team.
Ian Thornton OBE, Chief Executive Officer of the Community Sports Foundation, said:
“We are really proud of Clive; he and his family have had a really tough year. We hope this recognition is a small gesture of ours of how much we and all of our participants in the Down syndrome and pan-disability squads value his commitment, time and personality.”
Premier League Director of Community Nick Perchard said:
“It is so important that we continue to recognise and collectively highlight the positive impact that work within local communities has, championing those at the heart of Premier League-funded initiatives. Success on the pitch enables the Premier League to share unparalleled investment into communities and football at all levels across England and Wales.”
