Nestled within the Pennine Range of the Yorkshire Dales National Park lie the iconic three peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent.

The scening, circular route starts and ends at the iconic and synonymous, Ribblehead Viaduct.

See the full route here!

Each sub-team will be guided by at least two volunteer team leaders, who will have maps, GPS and radios linking them to the other sub-teams and our support minibuses.

The team will prepare hot/cold drinks and snacks for you and transfer your luggage, along with supporting any other requests you may have.

The entry fee is £165 (which covers all transport, accommodation and the above) with a further agreement to raise a minimum of £200. A £65 deposit is required on booking to secure your place.

We will hold an information evening in May at The Nest. The date will be communicated to all our participants nearer the time.

The evening is a chance to meet our team leaders and other walkers, talk through key information, and gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

For this year’s event, we will be staying in the Three Peaks Bunk House. This is located at the start and finish point of the challenge, meaning there will be minimal minibus travel on Saturday.

You’ll be staying two nights in the bunk house, Friday night and Saturday night. Each room is for 8 people in bunk beds. Check out their website here.

  • Walking Boots – if they are new, these will need to be worn in
  • Good socks
  • Rucksack – We recommend day sack size (20 to 30 litres) as you’ll be able to replace items between each mountain
  • Walking poles – optional, we suggest training with these to make sure you’re comfortable with them
  • Water bladder – recommend these are they carry more water than bottle and are easier to use
  • Layers
  • Waterproof coat and trousers
  • Warm comfy clothes – for bus rides
  • Flips flops or sliders
  • Sun cream
  • Gloves
  • Sun hat and warm hat
  • Head torch – Good to have in case you get delayed
  • Personal medical equipment

Each walker will be provided with a challenge t-shirt. You may need to invest in kit and equipment. We recommend visiting Go Outdoors, as you will be eligible for charity discount on most purchases.

Sadly, we aren’t blessed with mountains in Norfolk, so the best training is to do mid/long distance walks. We recommend 5-to-6-hour walks, to mirror the time spent on each mountain.

We encourage our participants to go on group walks prior to the challenge to get to each other and our team leaders, who will try to join you.
