See route

8.00am – Race Village opens

8.30am – Junior pen will open for runners

9.15am – Start of Junior Run

Whilst the run is not timed, we require all participants (children and adults) to wear a running number – this’ll also act as your ticket to run on the day.

You will be required to collect your running number from the Foundation team at the Run Norwich Expo (6th-7th September).

The Expo, located at the Forum, Norwich will be open between 9am–6pm on Friday 6th September and 9am–4pm on Saturday 7th September.

One lucky runner will receive a ‘Golden Ticket’ with their running number, which will unlock a bag of goodies!

Entry for the run will be free of charge with a requirement for each child to raise a minimum of £50 for the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation.

Accompanying parents will be required to pay a £10 entry fee and can be responsible for a maximum of two children running the course.

If you have two or more children entered the race (from the same family), the fundraising expectation will decrease.  For example, 1 x child (£50), 2 x child (£75), 3 x child (£100), 4 x child (£125).

Minimum amount raised will need to be evidenced and demonstrated to be able to collect your race numbers.

All funds raised will support the life-changing work of the Community Sports Foundation in the region.

We have a number of rewards to help encourage you with your fundraising, including:

  • Raise £200 – Photo signed by a Norwich City FC player
  • Raise £350 – 2 x ground tour tickets
  • Raise £450 – Norwich City FC pennant signed by the first team
  • Raise £600 – 2 x Norwich City FC match day tickets (game choice subject to availability)
  • Raise £700 – Norwich City FC football signed by the first team
  • Raise £800 – Norwich City FC shirt signed by the first team
  • Raise £1,500 – Signed & framed Norwich City FC shirt
  • Raise £2,500 – 2 x Norwich City FC match day hospitality tickets (game choice subject to availability)

The Run Norwich Junior collection point will be in the South corner of Chapelfield Gardens. This will be reserved for participants and their authorised collectors only.

Any child aged 8 or 9 on run day must be accompanied by an adult to participate in the run. All unaccompanied children MUST be collected from the Run Norwich Junior collection point after finishing, unless special authorisation has been given by the recognised parent / guardian on sign up.

Once you’ve collected your child, we recommend arranging to meet other friends and family in the main Race Village area away from the collection point area to help with decongestion of the area.

If your child has run unaccompanied then the authorised collecting adult will need to be wearing the collection wristband allocated with the child’s race pack.

Full details of collection will have been confirmed at the Expo event upon collection of the race pack.

FAQs

How long is the course?

It’s just under a mile (if you’d like us to be precise, 1.52 kilometres!)

I’m entered in to the main 10k race. Can I also run with my child in the junior run?

No – due to the tight turnaround times of the events, adults are unable to take part in both.

Can my child wear headphones?

The use of any devices with headphones, earbuds or bone conduction devices are not prohibited while completing the run.

Can my child wear fancy dress?

Fancy dress is not permitted whilst completing the Junior Run, we’d encourage runners to wear your commemorative Run Norwich Junior t-shirt where possible – let’s see a sea of green!

Is this event a race? Will there be results?

No, this event is a just for fun and therefore will not be timed. Everyone will receive a finisher’s medal, and there will be no prizes for the first finisher.

Will the roads be closed? Is the route sign posted?

Yes – the run takes place on part of the Run Norwich 10km course, so road closures will remain the same. The route will be sign posted.

Is there a baggage drop-off for Junior Run entrants?

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a baggage drop-off for entrants.

Will my child still be able to take part if they haven’t reached their fundraising target?

Our fundraising team are on hand to offer you support and guidance. If you are struggling to hit the target, please contact them to discuss.

My child is disabled/in a wheelchair – can they still take part?

Please contact the event team at [email protected] to discuss this option further.

Is there a cut off time for completing the run? What if they can’t finish it in time?

Yes, due to the main 10K race that follows the Junior Run, anyone not in a position of completing the course within the 15-minute time, may be withdrawn from the course.
Participants who cannot complete the course in the given time frame will be collected from the course by our team of volunteers and escorted to the Race Village.

My child is age 10 and over but wants me to accompany them. Can I run with them?

We have a limited total capacity, which includes both children and accompanying adult runners. Therefore, we encourage runners aged 10 and over to run unaccompanied whenever possible. This helps more children to participate and enjoy the Run Norwich Junior experience.

However, in special circumstances, such as if your child has additional needs, health conditions, or impairments, we do permit adults to run with their children aged 10 and over. Please contact us directly at [email protected] to make arrangements.

I have entered as an accompanying adult. How many children can I be responsible for?

Accompanying parents can be responsible for a maximum of two children running the course.

Can my child’s older sibling be their support runner?

Yes – as long as they are 18 or over.

I am running as an accompanying adult. What entry benefits will I receive?

You’ll receive everything your child does – a medal, souvenir bag, t-shirt and the day passes to The Nest and Banham Zoo.
