Premier League 4 Sport
Engaging young people in the local community
Delivered by the Premier League, Sport England and funded by a £3.8m partnership with the UK Government, PL4S sees Premier League Clubs acting as a hub linked to community sports facilities, which in turn are linked to local secondary schools to create satellite sports centres.
The scheme offers satellite clubs for participants aged 11-19 in seven Olympic sports of badminton, boxing, table-tennis, netball, hockey, handball and basketball, with “Clubmark” clubs set up in the local area to provide exit route opportunities to participants who would like to take their involvement in the sport further.
This Olympic legacy programme has seen great success since its launch in 2009 on a national scale, helping tens of thousands of young people get involved in sport in their local community.
There will be opportunities throughout the programme for participants to represent their hubs in fixtures against other PL4S hubs as well as possible external fixtures against other PL4S Premier League clubs.
The weekly sessions are open to all levels of participant within the age-range and are delivered by a minimum of sport specific level 2 qualified coaches across all our hub sites.
