National Citizen Service
It all starts at yes!
The National Citizen Service runs in Norfolk for Year 11s/12s; providing young people with the opportunity to take part in residential camps and volunteering projects in their local communities.
Norwich City Community Sports Foundation continue to deliver the National Citizen Service in the summer and autumn as part of the NCS East group run by Reed in Partnership.
Summer participants enjoy back to back residential weeks in July/August which encourage team building and making new friends before the chance to make a difference in their local community with 60 hours of social action work.
The cost of the summer programme is £50. There are however, bursaries available to cover the cost if needed.
In 2017, the programme will run from:
Wave one Monday 26th June – Friday 21st July
Wave two Monday 3rd July – Friday 28th July
Wave three Monday 10th July – Friday 4th August
Wave four Monday 17th July – Friday 11th August
Wave five Monday 24th July – Friday 18th August

The autumn programme is a four day residential followed by three day visits to Easton College and 30 hours of social action spread over 5-6 weeks.
In previous years, groups have completed social action projects such as the redevelopment of a school play area, hosting charity fashion shows, the renovation of a local football club’s changing facilities and the painting of sports parks.
