After School Clubs

OSHL coaching for football, sport and dance

The Community Sports Foundation is able to help your school extend its provision by offering a variety of extra-curricular activities to suit the needs of your school and, more importantly, its pupils.

So far this academic year we have delivered more than 100 extra-curricular clubs to schools across Norfolk and North Suffolk.

The sessions run for an hour after school and can be booked and secured for the entire academic year with options to change the delivery topic for every half term block.

To make the club a safe and fun learning environment, we ask for each club to follow the coach participant ratios:

Key Stage One - Minimum of 8 / Maximum of 14

Key Stage Two - Minimum of 8 / Maximum of 18

This, we feel, makes the club enjoyable for all.

The Foundation’s staff stay on site after the club finishes to make sure each pupil has been collected safely.

A CSF football extra-curricular club will use the power of Norwich City Football Club to engage each participant through each session.

Children will learn techniques through a series of skill development drills and fun games that challenge their learning.

To make the techniques more enjoyable, they are each linked to a Norwich City FC player and there are constant reminders of when and how that player will perform it during a match. Each session will finish with a match to allow the pupils to perform what they have learned.

Week 1: Dribble like... Sergio Canos
Week 2: Pass like... Johnny Howson
Week 3: Turn like... Wes Hoolahan
Week 4: Shoot like... Cameron Jerome
Week 5: Save like... John Ruddy
Week 6: Small sided World Cup tournament / presentation

At CSF, we have the capabilities and the staff to deliver more than just football. We have qualified coaches in many other sports which may be more engaging to pupils.

The sports that we can currently offer are:

• Athletics
• High 5 Netball
• Kwik Cricket
• Multi-Skills
• Quicksticks Hockey
• Tag Rugby
• Tennis

As well as offering each of the individual sports we can also offer a Multi-Sport option which allows the school or participants to choose which sports that they would like to participate in each week.

For each sport, the children will follow a coaching plan based around the core techniques / topics of the sport; these plans follow a logical order, as often techniques lead on from another. The plans also follow an educational theme by setting aims and objectives for each session.
