Supporting your school's PE & school sport offer

Over the past twelve academic years, the Foundation has continued to develop a high quality, yet cost effective, way of covering Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) release time, through our School Sport Programme.

The comprehensive programme assigns qualified coaches to schools to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum offer from developing fundamental movement skills to developing technical skills in preparation for competition; delivered within a nurturing environment where the holistic development of pupils is as important as the physical. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of sport and physical activity.

To discuss the Foundation’s School Sport Programme and available support in further detail, please contact our Schools Development Officer, on 01603 761122 or at [email protected].

All schools that the Foundation work with during curriculum time are awarded CSF Partner School status.

This allows us to focus our attentions in supporting your school’s needs, aims and objectives. Schools are granted Partner School status for the duration of their contracts with the Foundation.

Benefits include:

  • Infrastructure of support for quality assurance, finance, communication and safeguarding.
  • Norwich City FC ticket offers for staff and parents
  • Priority entry into CSF’s tournament programme
  • Signed Norwich City football to use for fundraising events
  • Funded Teaching Training opportunities for unlimited numbers of staff…plus many more!

As a charity the Foundation is often able to support local schools with the costs of your provision. Last academic year numerous schools benefited from this opportunity.

A personalised approach to every school ensures that implementing the School Sport programme will help achieve your goals by providing:

  • An affordable solution to PPA cover/teacher CPD, using minimum of Level 2 qualified coaches and staff
  • A range of sports and games on offer including hockey, netball, rugby, football, tennis, cricket, rounders and athletics
  • Schemes of work and lesson plans based on the National Curriculum
  • Long term planning
  • Class specific sheets
  • Individual pupil assessment
  • Positive reward scheme and changing room challenge
  • Cross Curricular pack for wet weather days
  • Creative arts programme on request

All of the current schools involved in our programme are more than happy for prospective new schools to visit their site to see the initiative in action and provide feedback from a fellow headteacher’s point of view. To arrange a site visit, please contact the Foundation office (see below).

We recognise that the impact our staff can have on young people in your school in infinite. Therefore we make sure that staff are fully quality assured through lesson observation led by our schools team, and where possible, joint lesson observation conducted with senior leaders to ensure that we are helping to raise standards in the delivery service we provide.

We are taking expressions of interest to be a part of a newly formed working group to look at the delivery of Physical Education and School Sport.

We want to build a group that shares our passion for developing young people not just physically but holistically.

Termly meetings will be held to update members, provide opportunities and keep improving the quality of service we are providing. Please contact [email protected] for further information.
