Norfolk FA FDC launches as new Hub
City's Kyle Lafferty guest at event to mark new partnership
The Community Sports Foundation and Norfolk County FA are celebrating the start of a new football partnership with the launch of the Football Development Centre in Norwich as a CSF ‘Hub’ site.
The new partnership is aimed at positively impacting the local footballing landscape in Norfolk and will see a host of CSF programmes delivered at Norfolk County FA’s premier football facility.
Some of the key aims of the new partnership are to increase the number of football activities, not just at the FDC, but across the county – including a focus on increasing the provision for girls and players with disabilities.
To mark the launch, special guest Norwich City's Kyle Lafferty visited youngsters from the CSF’s Player Development Centre, during a training camp session.

The striker met the young footballers and shared his experiences of life as a professional player, as well as signing autographs and posing for photographs.
"It was excellent that Kyle took time to meet all the PDC players at this first-class facility," said CSF Director, Ian Thornton.
"Our football development programme provides numerous coaching programmes, events and in many cases, memorable lifelong experiences for boys, girls and children and adults with disabilities.
"Whilst we have worked with the team at Norfolk FA on a number of projects in the past, the new agreement formalises the link and recognition of the role we can play together to support local people.”
The partnership will also look to increase the number of children moving into local clubs as well as boosting the number of local coaches attending NCFA training courses.
Norfolk County FA Chief Executive Shaun Turner commented on the vast potential of the partnership moving forward.
"This partnership will facilitate an increase of football provision in the County and we are glad to formalise our workings with CSF, specifically around the FDC. It will aid in our commitment to making football available for everyone in Norfolk."
