It′s two out of two for the City Powerchair team!
Powerchair squad are victorious in recent set of fixtures
On Sunday, the Norwich City Powerchair team travelled to Surrey Sports Park to play their second round of fixtures in the Wheelchair Football Association League.
The day was an all round success for the Canaries with the squad winning both matches, beating Reading 3–0 and Sevenoaks Dev 2-1.
Mike Coleman was the stand out player on the day, scoring one goal in the first game and both goals against Sevenoaks Dev.
So far, their performance in the League has been solid, the team have won three and lost only one of the opening four fixtures.
Their recent victory means they are currently in second place in Division 2 of the Wheelchair FA League (South East Region).
Darren Hunter, CSF Disability Development Officer, is proud of the team’s efforts:
"To see the squad achieve such good results is very rewarding and something they deserve for the consistent hard work they put in at training every Friday.
"It’s brilliant to see the team performing so well.”
The next set of fixtures will be held at Stoke Mandeville on January 31st.
The Community Sports Foundation help to support and part-fund the Powerchair team who train on Fridays 6–8pm at City Academy, Norwich.
