England call up for local girls

Young footballers to represent their country this week

Two players from the Community Sports Foundation’s (CSF) Girls’ Football Development Programme will be making their football debut at international level this Easter.

Blue Wilson and Kyra Robertson (pictured right) have been selected for the England Women’s Under-15 Training Camp and will travel to Brussels later this week to represent their country in fixtures against Belgium.

The pair joined the Girls' Centre of Excellence (COE) at the Under-11 and Under-9 age group respectively and currently train with the Girls’ Programme.

CSF Girls’ & Womens' Football Development Officer Sian Wager said:

“Blue and Kyra have worked incredibly hard and have proved that with hard work and commitment you can achieve anything.

“Both girls have set the benchmark for other players on the programme and across the county to aspire to. We’d all like to wish them the best of luck for this call up and with their future international careers.”

Blue and Kyra follow in the footsteps of Lauren Hemp and Aimee Palmer who have previously represented England and have recently qualified for the finals of the UEFA European Women's Under-17 Championship.
