CSF Celebrates 20 Years

Foundation ambassador Jake Humphrey hosts event at Norwich City FC

Norwich City Community Sports Foundation celebrated its 20th anniversary in February with an event hosted by BBC presenter and CSF ambassador Jake Humphrey and CSF Director Ian Thornton at Carrow Road.

The event took a fond look back at the history of the charity and highlighted 12 key goals that the charity hopes to achieve in 2012.

Jake called upon some of his fellow ambassadors to help reveal each goal including Craig Fleming, Iwan Roberts, Darren Eadie and CSF's new junior ambassador Jamie Abbott.

Also on stage speaking was Norwich City Chief Executive David McNally, captain Grant Holt and the club's currently longest serving player, Adam Drury.

The induction of Jamie Abbott as a junior ambassador, along with Norfolk tennis prospect Pippa Horn, was a particularly moving moment as Jamie was presented with his certificate by his hero, Grant Holt.

The CSF Storm Dance Company announced their arrival with a stunning display of Street Dance, which was cheered by the assembled guests.

CSF 12 Goals for 2012

The event was filmed as part of a BBC Match of the Day community feature to be shown at a date to be confirmed.

Director Ian Thornton said:

“The charity has changed so much, and we now help so many more people. Sport is such a powerful tool, but without all the staff and our outstanding partners that work with us, the Foundation would not be able to achieve our goals to date. 2012 brings new challenges but some very exciting opportunities, so if you would like to get involved and help make a difference please contact us.”

CSF Ambassador Darren Eadie said afterwards on Twitter:

"Great afternoon with Norwich City CSF, amazing work and they have come so far in 20 years. Proud to be an ambassador."
