All Stars shine in London
CSF Disability team perform at national dance contest
The Foundation’s disability dance troupe, ‘CSF All Stars’, were in London last Sunday to take part in the Legacy Cheer & Dance ‘Just Believe’ competition.
A team of nine, supported by their parents and Foundation coaches, made the trip to the iconic Copper Box Arena in the Olympic Park.
The team, whose disabilities include Down’s Syndrome and autism, performed their routine in front of a crowd of thousands.
Impressing the judges, the All Stars scooped the ‘Special Athlete Dance Award’.
The contest attracts hundreds of teams every year, and is one of the premier competitions for dance and cheerleading groups in the U.K.
Chelsea MacColl, CSF’s Disability Dance coach, was proud of her group:
“It was incredibly emotional to see them performing in front of such a large crowd at such a stunning venue. The parents weren't alone in having tears in their eyes. I’m so pleased for them.
Most of our participants are extremely shy, and to conquer their nerves in this way will do wonders for their self-confidence.”
