Caring in the Community
Norwich City themed hospital visits from volunteer Duncan MacInnes
CSF’s Caring in the Community is a free service for hospital patients at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
Regular visits are made throughout the season by volunteer Duncan MacInnes who shows short highlights of Norwich City matches and provides fascinating anecdotes and stories from the club to patients and their relatives in wards and clinics.
A passionate Norwich City fan, Duncan comes equipped with matchday programmes, posters and Caring in the Community stickers - plus from time to time, signed City goodies.
Founded as Canaries for the Community in 2003, Duncan has entertained thousands of sick patients over the years. In June 2013, Duncan reached an impressive milestone when he visited fifteen-year-old Ellie Loades - his 3,000th patient.
All children’s areas of the hospital are visited as are the Cringleford Ward and the Jack Prior Renal Unit. Other wards are available on request.
Caring in the Community is supported by the Community Sports Foundation.
