Girls′ Programme Overview

Here is how the girls' programme is working this season

The Norwich City CSF Girls' football development programme is designed to help young talented female footballers reach their full potential.

With age groups from U8 through to U16, our three-tier high quality training programme is tailored to give players the best opportunity to progress technically as a footballer and to develop social and psychological skills too.

Girls’ Academy Development Programme (Tier One)

The top tier of our advanced provision, training will take place on Thursday evenings at Open Academy.

The programme includes:

  • 36 weeks of 1.5hr training sessions, both outdoor and indoor (futsal)
  • Minimum of 11 competitive fixtures across the season against the likes of Chelsea, Crystal Palace and local mixed teams.
  • Tours, festivals and tournaments
  • Player progress reports, player/parent evenings and development workshops covering themes such as goal setting and health & nutrition.
  • Access to Norwich City match tickets and experiences when available

Elite Player Development Centre (Tier Two)

The EPDC forms the second tier of our provision and training takes place on Tuesday evenings at Open Academy.

The programme includes:

  • 30 weeks of 1.5hr training sessions, both outdoor and indoor (futsal)
  • Minimum of 4 competitive fixtures across the season against the likes of Cambridge United, Reading & Peterborough United.
  • Tours, festivals and tournaments
  • Player progress reports

Player Development Centre (Tier Three)

The third tier of our provision, the PDC takes place on Tuesday evenings at the FDC in Bowthorpe.

The programme includes:

  • 30 weeks of 1.5hr training sessions, both outdoor and indoor (futsal)
  • Four development days across the season
  • Tours, festivals and tournaments
  • Player progress reports

Goalkeeper Player Development Centre

The third tier of our provision, the GK PDC takes place on Tuesday evenings at the FDC.

The programme includes:

  • 30 weeks of 1.5hr training sessions, both outdoor and indoor (futsal)
  • Four development days across the season
  • Fixtures for selected goalkeepers
  • Tours, festivals and tournaments
  • Player progress reports

All our facilities are risk assessed and provide outstanding playing surfaces.

Trials

The Norwich City Girls' Youth Development Programme is holding open trials for girls between 6 and 16 years old.

Spots in the Goalkeeper Development Programme, Player Development Centre, Elite Player Developmet Centre and Academy Development Programme are up for grabs, all of which make up the tiers of progression for young talented female footballers in the 2017-18 season.

The trials will be held on grass and 3G pitches. Players must bring boots, shin pads, trainers and plenty of drink.

FA Advanced Coaching Centre 

The ACC is part of the FA girls’ talent pathway and will be delivered by the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation on behalf of the Norfolk FA.

The ACC is designed to support the development of elite female players. The centre is a supplementary training and games programme and will complement both girls’ existing grassroots football as well as CSF’s existing programmes above.

Each player accepted into the ACC will benefit from 29 weeks of coaching at a central venue as well as six competitive fixtures per season.

FA ACC Trials

The Norwich City Girls' Youth Development Programme are looking for talented female players to trial at age groups U12, U14 and U16.

They are seeking players who play for a mixed team or who excel within their club environment or who have played within a FA Player Development Centre or Advanced Coaching Centre.

Players need to be committed to their football development to take a place in the season long centre and be able to attend training each week.
