Boys′ Programme Overview
How the boys' programme is working this season
The Foundation delivers our player development programme across a two-tier system, through the Elite Player Development Centre (EPDC) and the Player Development Centre (PDC).
The Elite Player Development Centre offers players the chance to train twice a week (one night football, one night futsal) at a central Norwich venue with selected EPDC players of similar potential.
A comprehensive fixture programme forms a key part of the EPDC. To date, the fixture programme has included matches against the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Swansea City, Stoke City and Watford.
EPDC GKs will attend weekly sessions with their respective squads, where they will receive coaching from GK staff in technical and matchplay scenarios.
The Player Development Centre offers players the chance to receive quality technical coaching sessions at venues situated in key areas around Norfolk and North Suffolk. This year we have venues in Norwich, Cromer, Dereham, Gorleston, Lowestoft and Wymondham.
While the primary focus of the PDC is to deliver a technical training programme, there will be select opportunities for players to represent the PDC in fixtures.
"The PDC was the perfect stepping stone to help me to progress onto the Academy and I would recommend it to any young player." - Todd Cantwell, Norwich City FC Academy player
PDC Goalkeepers have the chance to attend weekly sessions at one of our three GK Hub sites, Norwich, Dereham and Lowestoft to train alongside other GKs of similar potential.
All facilities are risk assessed and provide outstanding playing surfaces.
