Norwich City CSF Youth Development Programme
Providing development opportunities for young footballers with potential
The 2015-16 season sees the continuation of the Elite Player Development Centre (EPDC) for the boys' programme, which sits between the Norwich City FC Academy and the existing Player Development Centres (PDCs) in the development pathway.
Premier League Youth Development has undergone a major review, led by the Premier League, representatives of the Football League and the FA and has seen the introduction of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).
Some of the fundamental principles of the EPPP are:
· Increase the number and quality of home grown players gaining professional contracts in the clubs and playing first-team football at the highest level
· Create more time for players to play and be coached
· Improve coaching provision
· Implement a system of effective measurement and quality assurance
· Seek to implement significant gains in every aspect of player development
Norwich City Academy has achieved Category One status and it is our aim to support this programme by providing a development pathway for local players with potential.
Local Player Development Centre (PDC) coaching for boys allows more players from Norfolk to receive weekly coaching with players of similar experience and ability.
The Elite Player Development Centre (EDPC), based in Norwich, enables more players to be identified, monitored and to progress in safe, fun, learning environments.
This year boys across both the EPDC and PDC programmes will benefit from indoor Futsal training to complement their standard outdoor training sessions.
